| Optical Systems Technology's Star-Tron® 410 mm lens is Optical Systems Technology's long-range nighttime passive surveillance lens for use with use with the Gen-II or Gen-III MK-880 series pocketscope, the AN/PVS-7 goggles, or the AN/PVS-4 battery housing and ocular with a 25 mm format Gen-II or Gen-III image intensifier. When equipped with the universal focusing accessory, the lens attaches to the MK-880 Night Vision PocketScope™ or the AN/PVS-7 goggles simply by unscrewing the 1-X objective from the PocketScope™ or goggles (and attaching a tube retainer piece onto the goggles) and screwing the unit onto the lens. The system mounts on a low militarized tripod or upon any standard tripod-type interface. It is aimed by hand and viewed from the rear using the PocketScope™ eyepiece. It is adaptable to video and SLR cameras as well. The system magnification is 15.5x when used with the standard ocular. The system field of view is 2.5 degrees when used with an 18 mm format, and 3.5 degrees with a 25 mm format. |
LENS SYSTEM: Optical Systems Technology's Star-Tron® 410 mm focal length, T-2.0 catadioptric objective lens, is specifically designed for night-vision use. The optical design is a fast f/1.5, providing exceedingly low chromatic aberration and crisp imagery over its full 480-910 nm (extended blue) operating range. It is ideal for both 2nd and 3rd generation intensifiers. MOUNTING SYSTEM: The LR-410 410 mm lens is normally equipped with a yoke and trunnion mounting system. This arrangement permits the lens to be tilted without shifting its center of gravity. An adjustable brake, separate positive lock, and an adjustable elevation scale are standard on the yoke pivot. This mount is designed for attachment to either a standard heavy duty tripod, or a low-profile militarized tripod. | (Click image for larger view.)
